Freedom lakes is a private Carp Fishing Holiday paradise. The complex is set in mature French woodland encompassing 8 lakes, offering the opprtunity to fish for carp up to 50lbs in a quiet, beautiful scenic environment.

The setting
If you can imagine wandering through an untouched forest surrounded by big oaks and beautiful beech trees with natural trails leading you around undiscovered corners, with the bird chorus above your head and the sound of deer disappearing back deep into the woods, catching a glimpse of water through a gap in the trees revealing the whereabouts of hidden lakes, this is what it is like to stroll around the complex.

History and development
The lakes were created back in the early 1970’s and each lake seems to have its own unique atmosphere and character, almost like different worlds. Some of the lakes will remain untouched by anglers, used only for growing our future generations of fish.

It would have been easy to find plenty of fish with one of the partners, Jean-Noel Retailleau being a very active local fish farmer handling over 70 tonnes of fish each winter, but this has been a long term plan and for 3 consecutive winters, Jean has been hand selecting some really special quality fish from his drain downs and keeping them in one of his 50 acre lakes in anticipation of this project.

The lakes, known locally as 'Les 8 Etangs', are stocked with an incredible number of awesome looking fish. These fish are not your average French commercial water stockies; they are top pedigree carp with a mixture of shapes and scale patterns and some incredible commons and ghosties amongst them.

The two lakes open for angling are 19 and 27 acres in size and offer easy/medium, and more difficult fishing opportunities. The 19 acre lake holds a massive head of 20's and 30's - and offers great action and the chance of catching 30lb+ fish and even 40lb+ during your fishing holiday.

Freedom Lakes is without doubt one of the quietest venues that you are likely to come across with the only noise being that of nature itself.
